To expand OCAS’s abiltiy to reach higher melting points, and to broaden our offer to customers, a 1000 A vacuum arc melter has been installed.
For small-scale casting, OCAS has a 1 kg and a 50 g small-scale induction melter (levitation casting possible), next to the 1000 A arc melter (suction casting possible). The arc melter is especially used for synthesis of refracotry or high melting point elements/alloys. OCAS continues optimising mould design to extend the possibilities of the arc melter’s casting and and shaping abilities for more complex alloys.
